Meet The Team

At Flamingo, we strongly believe that our employees are the backbone to the company’s success. We strive to achieve teamwork, and so we organize regular events and activities where our staff can integrate and get to know each other on a personal level and not just at the work place, which in the long run enhances teamwork.

We try to maintain a very hospitable environment at work, so that employees are not just workers, but friends. We accept ideas and criticism from everyone and this way, employees are not just numbers, but truly are an integral part of the company.


Management


  • Kelvin Kaisi

    General Manager

    Kelvin is responsible for the overall strategic management of the company. He possesses over 15 years’ senior management experience in various industries spanning insurance, manufacturing, retail, food and beverage, advertising and media sectors. 8 of these years have been specific to aviation with exposure to duty free retail and food and beverage sectors. He is an Accountant by profession as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

  • Retha Verwey

    Production Manager

    Retha is a food expert with over 27 years’ experience in the food industry covering hotels and restaurants. She has worked Scotland and is a proud member of the team that represented Namibia in the South African Operation for Hunger with 128 other chefs from around the world in 1992. She has also been involved in catering for Miss Universe events. Retha is responsible for the menu planning and design and the management of the production department.

  • Jameel Smith

    Quality Assurance Manager

    Jameel is a seasoned expert in quality management systems with specific focus on food safety, quality and halal processing systems. His experience spans over 16 years with exposure to airline catering, halal food processing, red meat processing and fishing industries amongst others. Jameel is responsible for ensuring all products and services meet Flamingo’s quality assurance standards.

  • Moavia van Wyk

    Aviation Security Manager

    Moavia is highly experienced in aviation security professional having worked for over 13 years in aviation security. He has over the years worked in various sectors including the Namibian Police Force in the Aviation Security Unit, Private Security and Aviation Security Consultancy. He is in charge of ensuring the strict application of security measures in order to safeguard civil aviation.

  • Victoria Welama

    Accountant

    Victoria is a qualified Accountant with many years’ experience in finance and accounting. She has worked in various capacities in Flamingo’s Finance Department which has equipped her with in-depth knowledge of the function in airline catering. Additional to Finance and Administration, she oversees the stores and procurement function in Flamingo.
